Pier Park is #8 in Best Things To Do in Panama City Beach

Panama City Beach on Florida’s beautiful Gulf Coast is first and foremost a beach destination. But when you need a break from the sun and swimming, (or if your parade gets rained on), our beach town has plenty of attractions to keep you entertained with or without the Gulf waters. A popular area is Pier Park. An outdoor retail, dining and entertainment mall, Pier Park offers familiar chain restaurants like Olive Garden, Texas Roadhouse and Margaritaville, along with popular stores like Forever 21, Dillard’s, Marshalls, and many more. When shopping is not longer keeping your family entertained, head to the SkyWheel (a big hit with kids of any age), or see what’s playing in the heart of Pier Park at the Grand Theatre.

Along with the variety of stores, dining and activities, visitors also enjoy how clean and safe the area is.

Pier Park is open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Best Times to Visit Panama City Beach

There’s never a wrong time to visit the beach in our opinion! But if you looking for tips on the best times to visit our sunny Gulf Coast town, we can tell you some things to expect throughout the year in Panama City Beach.

If you are looking for sunshine, lots of events, and love meeting new people, the best time to visit Panama City Beach is from May through October. Our area has an average of 320 days of sunshine per year, but late spring, summer and early fall offer some of the warmest air and water temperatures. You can expect fun crowds of visitors in the peak summer months, and activities for all ages.

November through February is the beaches “off” season, which has both pros and cons. Though temperatures have dipped (highs hover in the mid-60s while lows reach the mid-40s), there are still plenty of holiday events filling the calendar. Plus, if you aren’t a fan of the crowds, you’ll enjoy more availability, less traffic and lower rates. However, because it’s the offseason, some activities and attractions may not be available, so keep that in mind when you start creating your itinerary.

March and April temperatures can be unpredictably beautiful sitting comfortably in the mid- to upper 70s, with dips into the upper 40s to 50s at night and water temps to match. Panama City still ranks as a popular destination among spring breakers, but city officials have curbed a lot of the mischief by banning alcohol on the sandy beaches for the month of March. Spring is a beautiful time to enjoy the sunshine and all that Panama City has to offer.

No matter what month you decide to visit Panama City Beach, rest assured knowing there will always be activities to love along our Gulf Coast town!

Real. Fun. Fourth.

Home to the largest display of fireworks on the Gulf Coast, Panama City Beach offers an All-American weekend of Independence Day celebrations. Friends and family put on their red, white and blue gear and gather on the sand to enjoy an electrifying firework show (or shows, if you are up for a weekend of sparkling displays!). Events are held at various locations and times around the city.
